Separate start wave for women
Challenge Copenhagen announces separate start wave for the age-group women racing on august 15. It is a known fact that swim starts can be hectic and the fight to get the best position in the water can be fierce. Women are in danger of being trampled upon by the psychically stronger men in the mass wave starts.
Kim Kildegaard Isherwood, 7 times Hawaii Ironman contender and former national coach for Hong Kongs national junior and development squads. Who now works as advisor and personal triathlon coach feels strongly on this matter.

“Many women are uncomfortable in the water next to the physically stronger guys, and therefore are at risk of getting trampled on at the start. I thinks it is important for many female triathlets, that Challenge Copenhagen has a separate start wave for the age-group women.”
Challenge Copenhagen follow in the footsteps of Challenge Roth and Challenge Barcelona races. The decision was made to secure the best possible conditions for everyone competing on august 15.
”At Challenge Copenhagen, we want to meet the athletes demands and ideas. It is important to us that everybody have a good experience race.” Says, Thomas Veje Olsen, Race Director, Challenge Copenhagen
