First guy out of the water?

A lot of fast swimmers are on the start list for Challenge Copenhagen. Luke Dragstra with 49min flat in Roth, danish Andreas Borch who has beaten Chris McCormak out of the water on several occasions, amongst these he was 5th out of the water in Roth 2008.

But all the gents will have a hard time beating the Hungarian torpedo Adam Molnar, who is known as one of the fastest long distance swimmers in the pro field. He has been first out of the water in multiple half distance races, beating prominent names like McCormak and swam shoulder-to-shoulder with super swimmer Marko Albert from Estonia.

Adam Molnar will have his first go at the iron-distance on August 15th in Copenhagen, but his expectations to himself are reasonable – as long as he is the first out of the water it is a success, then time will show how long he can hang on when the guys catch up on the bike.

Danish Andreas Borch was not at all happy when he heard that Adam Molnar was on the start list: “Sure, I was hoping to be first out of the water on home grounds, but Adam is like a fish in the water and following Marko Albert over 1.900 meters swim is something very few can strive for. But I will most definitely still put up a fight, and the dream of setting the initial swim course record at Challenge Copenhagen keeps me training even harder

The swim in Challenge Copenhagen is held in an enclosed lagoon with almost no current. This means fast swim times for everybody, and with super swimmers like Andreas and Adam on the start line, we can all expect to witness sub 48min swims!
