Hi,

I am not a strong swimmer either, but my impression is that Amagerstrand is one of the easiest open water locations ýou could imagine.

As you can see from the map, the swim course is very protected. There is almost no room for the waves to build up, so the water will be pretty calm regardless of weather.

I haven't tried the course yet (it's still cold) but I think the water is quite shallow for most of the swim, so you could even stop and rest.

(I think that largely responds to the questions you asked, according to google-translate)

TIP
Hi Dylan,

Take a look at this website: http://www.amager-strand.dk/

It has a nice picture of the swim area. However it doesn't mention how deep the water is in the lagoon where most of the swimming is. However it does mention that the depth in the harbour, by beach station 5, is maximum 2.5m deep.

You can also have a look at the area here. I assume T1 is at beach station 3: http://www.amager-strand.dk/Materiale/Kort/Amager+Strand+Kort+med+reglement

Here's a link to the weather station at Amager Strand: http://www.weatherlink.com/user/amagerstrandpark/index.php?view=main&headers=0

TIP
Hi Dylan,

Yesterday I emails Amager Strandpark asking them for the depth in the lagoon. In their reply they write that the lagoon is more than 2m deep at the deepest, which is in the middel. However the swim route isn't in the middel of the lagoon.

See you at the race ;o)

KMD Challenge
Hi Everybody

The waterdepth of the swim course will be at least 1.5 meters, and more than 2 meters at the majority of the swim. Last time we went swimming at the Beach Park we were no way near being able to reach the buttom even when "standing" in the water, so the depth is a little more then 2 meters at many places.

We've had a couple of the danish top-pro's to look at the location, and they found it extremely suitable for a big event like this

All the best, and happy training!

Hello!
-I'm not a very good swimmer...3800m is a long way...It's difficult for me to go straight!!! What kind of indication will be on the water: a line on the water, or only 2 or 3 buoys?
-What is the time according to swim and change before the bike?
Thank you
